Here is something a little bit unusual. This blue sapphire from Ceylon has been carved into a fish design which is something that you don’t see every day. The sapphire is almost eye clean and the quality of the carving is excellent. The colour is a very lovely blue and the stone would suit a very creative setting. You could do anything with this gem, a pendent or something that creates an underwater scene, perhaps incorporating an opal in some way. A very fine sapphire.
